In this document we present the recommendations of the GIRO-ZERO project for the public and private sectors. The public sector includes legislators, regulators, and policy makers. The private sector includes independent transporters, companies, unions, and private associations.
This information is the result of an arduous analysis of quantitative and qualitative information on the sector, which has been extracted from two sources: (i) public and private databases and (ii) interviews and workshops with transporters, companies, unions, and public servants in 2021 and 2022.
The recommendations are classified into five categories: fleet configuration, fleet management, safe and efficient driving, logistics optimization and sector organization.
